Hyderabad: Alleti Maheshwar Reddy has been serving as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Nirmal since December 2023. He won the seat with 1,06,400 votes, defeating Allola Indrakaran Reddy (BRS), who secured 55,697; the winning margin was 50,703.
Political and personal background
Alleti Maheshwar Reddy is a two-term legislator from Nirmal. He earlier represented Nirmal in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly (2009–2014) after contesting on the Praja Rajyam Party ticket, and returned to the constituency in 2023 on a BJP ticket. In February 2024, he was chosen as the BJP Legislature Party (floor) leader in the Telangana Assembly.
A graduate in Bachelor of Arts from Osmania University, he has been active in district-level organisational work and opposition floor strategy in the House.
