Hyderabad: Hyderabad DCC president Syed Khalid Saifullah on Tuesday criticised the political approach of the Owaisi brothers, stating it aligns with the ideology of the Manusmriti.
He made the statement during Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations held in the Old City. The event, organised under the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s call, witnessed significant participation from party members and the public.
Saifullah said the Owaisi Manusmriti ideology contradicts the principles of equality and justice championed by B. R. Ambedkar. He stressed that Ambedkar’s lifelong struggle aimed at ensuring dignity for all.

Moreover, Saifullah argued that any concentration of power undermines democratic values. He cited remarks by Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi to support his claim of family-driven politics.
He further alleged that Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi continue this approach, creating a perception of political dominance.
Additionally, he recalled the Mahad Satyagraha, where Ambedkar burned the Manusmriti in protest. According to him, the act sent a strong message against inequality.
Participants at the event paid tribute to Ambedkar and read the Constitution’s Preamble collectively. Speakers highlighted that Ambedkar’s ideas remain relevant in ensuring justice today.
Saifullah concluded by urging citizens to support inclusive politics and uphold constitutional values.
