Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved a 7.6% dearness allowance (DA) hike for employees of the power department. The revised DA will take effect from July 1, 2025.
Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka approved the proposal submitted by senior officials. Following the approval, the government issued orders to implement the enhanced allowance.
Officials said the government reviewed both recommendations and financial implications before clearing the DA revision for state-run power utilities.
Power department DA hike to benefit 71,387 staff
The DA hike will benefit 71,387 employees across electricity organisations. These include regular staff, RTG employees, and pensioners. The government said the increase will help employees cope with rising living costs.
Authorities said they will calculate and disburse the additional DA as per existing norms. They added that all power sector entities will implement the revision uniformly from the effective date.
