Traffic constable dies in Rajendranagar DCM traffic accident

Hyderabad: A traffic police constable died after a DCM vehicle rammed into him while he was on duty in Rajendranagar lead to a traffic accident on Tuesday, police said.

Police identified the deceased as Abdul Sattar, a traffic constable posted in the Rajendranagar area. The accident occurred near Pillar Number 191, in front of the Skoda showroom on the Rajendranagar–Upparapalli stretch. Officials said the DCM driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the traffic personnel managing vehicular movement at the spot.

The collision also injured two others, including another traffic policeman. Emergency teams rushed them to a nearby hospital, where doctors reported their condition as stable.

Senior officials of the Hyderabad Traffic Police reached the scene soon after the incident and began an inquiry. Authorities shifted Abdul Sattar’s body for post-mortem examination as part of legal procedures.

The accident occurred at the busy Upparapalli junction, which connects Rajendranagar and Upparapalli and sees heavy movement of goods vehicles. Traffic slowed briefly as emergency teams cleared the damaged vehicle and restored normal flow.

Police registered a case and launched a search for the DCM driver, who fled the scene after the accident. Investigators are continuing further probe.
