Begum Bazar task force assault complaint surfaces

Hyderabad: A Begum Bazar task force operation has triggered controversy after a youth alleged that police personnel detained him during a raid, assaulted him and took cash from his pocket before releasing him.

According to the complaint, Task Force personnel conducted a raid at the residence of Rajender Panwar in Begum Bazar as part of a search operation. During the raid, officers allegedly detained his son, Yash Panwar, and took him to the old Commissioner’s Office in Hyderabad.

The youth claimed that police questioned him during the detention but did not find any information linked to the raid. He alleged that personnel later assaulted him during the interrogation.

Yash Panwar further alleged that Task Force staff took Rs 8,000 from the Rs 15,000 he was carrying in his pocket before letting him go.

Complaint follows Begum Bazar task force raid

Following the task force raid, the youth reportedly sustained injuries and sought medical treatment at Osmania Hospital. Sources said he approached authorities with a complaint regarding the alleged assault and the missing cash.
