Telangana HC removes hurdles for land cases under Bhu Bharati Act

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has paved the way for land registration and regularisation under the Bhu Bharati Act 2025. The ruling dismissed petitions that had stalled nearly 9 lakh pending applications for six years.

Applications were first invited in 2020 under GO 112. About 2.26 lakh came during October 10–29, followed by 6.74 lakh more. But the ROR Act of 2020 excluded simple sale deed cases, creating a deadlock.

Officials said no further stay orders are required, and the Revenue Department can now process applications smoothly. Experts pointed out that the 1971 ROR Act earlier allowed regularisation, but the clause was removed in 2020.

The High Court decision ensures applicants gain long-awaited clarity on land ownership. It is being seen as a major relief for citizens who waited years for resolution.
