Hyderabad: The Telangana government cancelled Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s scheduled visit to Khammam due to adverse weather conditions. However, it confirmed that Rythu Bharosa funds will be released from Hyderabad on Monday.
The Chief Minister was set to attend a public meeting near Matkepalli Cross Road in Chintakani mandal of Khammam district. The government had planned to launch the Rythu Bharosa funds during the programme.
Heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday left the meeting venue waterlogged. As a result, officials cancelled the event and shifted the programme to Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad.
The last-minute change disappointed Congress workers who had made arrangements for the Khammam meeting.
Hyderabad venue to host Rythu Bharosa funds launch
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will now release the funds from Shilpakala Vedika. He will also interact with farmers through a video conference linking Rythu Vedikas across the state.
The government said the change in venue would not affect the fund release. Farmers will receive the announced benefits as scheduled despite the cancellation of the Khammam programme.
