Hyderabad: A woman was found dead in Basankunta lake at Pamulaparthi village in Markook mandal on Thursday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Komati Padmamma (45). According to local residents, her body was found floating in the water by villagers who were passing through the area early in the morning. They immediately alerted other villagers and informed the police.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving the information and began preliminary inquiries. Officials said the circumstances leading to the Basankunta lake death were not immediately clear and further details were awaited.

Hyderabad: Police said they were collecting initial information from locals and examining the scene to understand how the woman ended up in the lake. The body was expected to be shifted for further examination as part of the procedure.
