Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Monday cleared pending scholarships linked to BC, SC, and tribal welfare departments. The Finance Department released ₹365.75 crore for the current financial year.
The SC Welfare Department received ₹191.63 crore. The ST Welfare Department received ₹152.59 crore. The BC Welfare Department received ₹21.62 crore to clear pending scholarships.
Officials said the government released the funds to clear long-pending dues. They added that the move would prevent further delays for students awaiting financial support.
Pending scholarships cleared despite financial constraints
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government has now released all scholarships left unpaid by the previous administration. He said the present government gives top priority to student welfare.
Despite financial pressure, he said the government will not let students suffer. He added that authorities will continue to disburse scholarship funds on time to all eligible beneficiaries.
