Harish Rao rejects BRS financial mismanagement allegations

Hyderabad: Former minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao said allegations of BRS financial mismanagement were completely false and lacked factual basis, asserting that the state recorded exceptional economic growth under the previous government.

Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy failed to answer questions raised by BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao. He said KCR focused on Hyderabad’s development and the state’s long-term interests, while the Chief Minister offered what he described as vague remarks without addressing concrete issues related to growth.

Harish Rao said claims of BRS financial mismanagement ignored measurable outcomes achieved during the previous tenure. He added that the state’s progress was acknowledged at a recent global summit, where international leaders praised Telangana’s economic performance.

BRS financial mismanagement claims countered with growth data

Citing the summit, Harish Rao said former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Reserve Bank of India Governor D Subbarao publicly commended Telangana’s economic growth. He said the state recorded a threefold increase in Gross State Domestic Product and a threefold rise in per capita income under KCR’s leadership.

He suggested that Revanth Reddy watch available videos from the summit to understand the actual situation. Harish Rao said Telangana, as a newly formed state, achieved notable economic expansion, financial stability, and welfare gains due to policies implemented during the BRS government.

The former minister said KCR’s press conference on Sunday remained focused entirely on safeguarding state interests. He added that Telangana emerged financially stronger during the BRS tenure and maintained fiscal stability alongside development.
