Hyderabad: The Telangana government constituted a Musi river rejuvenation committee to oversee the planning, coordination and implementation of the river restoration project, officials said.
The committee will focus on key aspects including ecological restoration, flood management, sewage treatment and sustainable riverfront development. Authorities said the move aims to ensure a structured and coordinated approach to rejuvenating the Musi River.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu will chair the rejuvenation committee. Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar will serve as members.

Officials said the Managing Director of the Musi River Development Corporation Limited will act as the Convenor of the committee. The panel will supervise execution, streamline coordination among departments and monitor progress of the project.
The government stated that the committee will play a key role in ensuring timely implementation of works and maintaining environmental standards. The initiative is part of broader efforts to improve urban infrastructure and river health in Hyderabad.
