Hyderabad MDMA drug bust nets four, 60 grams worth ₹6 lakh seized

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force and Sanathnagar Police carried out an MDMA drug bust, apprehending four persons and seizing 60 grams of the narcotic substance worth ₹6 lakh, officials said.

Acting on credible inputs, the Jubilee Hills Zone Task Force team arrested two offenders and detained two juveniles in conflict with law. Police said the accused were found in possession of MDMA intended for sale to customers in the city.

The arrested individuals were identified as Songapu Hemanth, 23, and Mukkagalla Nagendra, 21, both residents of Hyderabad. Officials confirmed that they were consumers who had also engaged in distribution.

Investigations revealed that the juveniles had links with absconding accused Sai Nikhil Yadav and Aditya, who allegedly supplied the drug. Two days before the arrest, the group procured 60 grams of MDMA at a lower price and planned to sell it to known customers at higher rates.

Police said the accused were habitual consumers of alcohol, ganja and synthetic drugs. Using their contacts, they sourced MDMA and circulated it within their network. The seized contraband was valued at ₹6,00,000.

Authorities handed over the accused along with the seized material to Sanathnagar Police Station for further legal action. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding suppliers.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Task Force. Inspector Ch. Yadender and SI D. Ravi Raj, along with their teams and Sanathnagar Police, participated in the operation.

Officials reiterated that strict action would be taken against those involved in drug trafficking and consumption in the city.
