Hyderabad: Telangana signed a Telangana energy efficiency MoU with the Global Green Growth Institute to strengthen green growth initiatives, with TGREDCO partnering under the SMARTEE-B programme.
The agreement was formalised by Anila Vavilla and Soumya Prasad Garnaik in the presence of senior IAS officer Navin Mittal. Officials said the Telangana energy efficiency MoU aims to accelerate sustainable development across multiple sectors.
Under the partnership, both organisations will work on improving energy efficiency and conservation. The initiative will also promote green buildings, sustainable cooling solutions, e-mobility and support for small and medium enterprises to transition towards greener practices.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen infrastructure that reduces energy consumption while improving performance standards. Officials noted that innovative financing models, including ESCO-based approaches, will be explored to support implementation.

As part of the Telangana energy efficiency MoU, the government will focus on capacity building and knowledge sharing to scale up adoption of clean technologies. The initiative also aims to facilitate technical expertise and global best practices through institutional cooperation.
Officials said the partnership would enable the development of low-carbon infrastructure across sectors. It is expected to create a framework that supports sustainable cooling systems and energy-efficient urban planning.
The agreement also aligns with Telanganaβs broader push for e-mobility and clean energy adoption. Authorities plan to integrate these efforts with ongoing policies to ensure long-term environmental benefits.
The state government said the collaboration reinforces its commitment to climate action and sustainable growth. It added that such partnerships are critical to achieving long-term goals related to energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
