Uttam Kumar Reddy denies gas shortage in Telangana

Hyderabad: Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy denied reports of a gas shortage Telangana and assured that adequate LPG supply was available for domestic consumers across the state.

The minister made the statement during a video conference held at the Secretariat with the Civil Supplies Commissioner, representatives of oil companies and district collectors. He said the ongoing rumours about a gas shortage Telangana were not true.

Uttam Kumar Reddy clarified that the government had ensured sufficient LPG supply for household consumers. He also said people did not need to worry about availability of cooking gas in the state.

The minister warned that strict action would be taken against those diverting domestic cylinders for illegal sale in the black market. He directed officials to maintain continuous vigilance to prevent such activities.

Gas shortage Telangana claim dismissed during review meeting

During the review meeting, Uttam Kumar Reddy instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to hospitals and government hostels. He stressed that essential institutions should not face any disruption in cooking gas availability.

The minister also warned agencies against causing inconvenience to consumers. He directed authorities to take legal action against LPG agencies that violated supply rules.

In addition, he emphasised the need for transparency in the distribution of essential commodities. Field-level officials were instructed to closely monitor supply systems so that the public does not face any difficulties.
