Fire at Suzuki service centre in Attapur guts three cars

Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a Suzuki showroom service centre near Pillar No. 185 in Attapur, gutting three cars and forcing the evacuation of around 90 nearby families as a precautionary measure.

Police said the flames erupted in the scrap godown of the service centre and spread quickly to parked vehicles. Two fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the blaze in time, preventing it from spreading further and averting a major mishap in the densely populated area.

No injuries were reported in the incident. However, residents living close to the service centre were asked to step out of their homes temporarily as thick smoke engulfed the surroundings.

Suzuki service centre fire under police investigation

Police registered a case and began scanning CCTV footage from the area to determine the exact cause of the Suzuki service centre fire. Residents alleged negligence on the part of the showroom management, citing safety lapses at the facility.

Meanwhile, the showroom management reportedly raised suspicions of possible sabotage. Officials said all angles were being examined and further action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
