Hyderabad: The Telangana government has tightened oversight of fee revisions in engineering and professional colleges. Officials confirmed that requests will now be examined against multiple benchmarks instead of being approved directly.

Authorities explained that attendance records, biometric and facial recognition systems, Aadhaar-linked payments and research initiatives will form part of the review. Education quality and placement outcomes will also carry importance.
Government orders added that colleges’ national and international rankings, along with compliance with norms, will be decisive before any revision is approved. The new framework aims to raise accountability and align private institutions with broader standards.
