Hyderabad: The GHMC mega sanitation drive intensified across Greater Hyderabad after R V Karnan conducted a field-level inspection in the Film Nagar Kotha Cheruvu area and issued clear operational orders.
During the visit, the commissioner directed officials to remove long-pending waste that had accumulated at a single location for an extended period. He stressed that sanitation teams must clear the debris completely and prevent repeat dumping.
Officials were told to maintain daily monitoring of vulnerable points. The commissioner also underlined the need for visible improvements on roads and public spaces under the ongoing GHMC mega sanitation programme.
Traffic coordination ordered under GHMC mega sanitation push
As part of the intensified effort, Karnan instructed GHMC officials to coordinate closely with the traffic police. He said vehicles abandoned along roadsides and causing traffic congestion must be removed without delay.
The inspection covered parts of Film Nagar, including the Kotha Cheruvu stretch, where sanitation lapses were flagged. The commissioner reviewed ground-level execution and asked staff to ensure strict follow-up.
The city-wide drive is being implemented by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation as a special initiative to improve cleanliness, ease traffic movement, and address chronic waste hotspots.
