CEO directs publicity for Book-a-Call facility to aid voter verification

Hyderabad: The Chief Electoral Officer directed district collectors and district election officers to widely publicise the Book-a-Call facility and Booth Level Officer phone numbers to strengthen voter mapping and verification during the ongoing electoral roll revision.

In a memo issued on Wednesday, Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy said the initiative would allow electors to directly contact their respective BLOs through the ECINET platform. He said this access would help voters correct and validate their personal details in a timely manner.

The CEO instructed officials to ensure that Electoral Registration Officers promptly updated any changes in BLO contact numbers on the ERO Net platform. He asked district collectors, district election officers and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner to issue clear directions to field staff for smooth implementation.

C. Sudharsan Reddy marked the instructions as “Most Important” and stressed proactive outreach. He said voters must find it easy to book calls with BLOs using the Book-a-Call facility for accurate mapping and verification of particulars.

The directive followed earlier communications from the Election Commission of India to strengthen public interface systems. Officials said these measures aimed to improve the accuracy of electoral rolls while special intensive revisions were under way in several States.
