Hyderabad: The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad arrested a YouTuber in connection with a case involving the creation and circulation of child sexual abuse content on social media platforms, officials said on Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Kambeti Satya Murthy, a 39-year-old resident of Andhra Pradesh. Police said he operated a YouTube channel named “Viral Hub” (@ViralHub007), where objectionable videos featuring minors were uploaded and shared. All the children shown in the videos were below 18 years of age.
According to investigators, the accused conducted interviews with minors aged between 15 and 17 years, during which he deliberately asked obscene and sexually explicit questions. In one video, he induced two minor children to kiss each other, which police said amounted to sexual exploitation and gross violation of child protection laws.
The Cyber Crime Police registered a suo motu case on October 16, 2025, after noticing child abuse–related videos circulating online. Technical analysis later confirmed that the content violated provisions of cyber laws and child protection statutes. Based on digital evidence, the accused was traced and taken into custody.
Child sexual abuse content uploaded to boost views, police say
Police said the accused had been active as a YouTuber since 2018 and also operated an Instagram account under the name “Viralhub_007”. Initially, he interviewed social media influencers using vulgar language to increase viewership and generate revenue.
Later, with the intent of further boosting views and monetisation, he allegedly escalated his activities by targeting minors and uploading sexually explicit content involving children. Officials said such acts constituted serious criminal offences under the Information Technology Act and the POCSO Act.
The investigation was carried out by a team led by Inspector S. Naresh, assisted by Sub-Inspector Suresh and other staff, under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Shiva Maruthi of the Cyber Crime Police Station, Hyderabad.
