KTR Must Apologise to Rahul Gandhi, Says TPCC Spokesperson

Hyderabad: TPCC Official Spokesperson Bandi Sudhakar Goud on Wednesday strongly condemned what he described as indecent, irresponsible and derogatory remarks made by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao against Congress national leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, Bandi Sudhakar Goud said KTR had lost political balance and was indulging in personal attacks due to frustration over the political decline of the BRS party. He reminded KTR that the formation of Telangana state was possible only because of the sacrifice made by Sonia Gandhi. Questioning KTR directly, he asked what his political situation and family status would have been had Telangana not been granted.

KTR must apologise to Rahul Gandhi or face consequences

Bandi Sudhakar Goud stated that in 2014, the Congress handed over a newly formed Telangana with a surplus budget. However, he alleged that during the ten-year rule of the BRS, the state was looted and pushed into massive debt. He accused the KCR family of behaving irresponsibly and plundering public funds, leaving Telangana financially strained.

He further pointed out that contractor bills worth ₹60,000 crore, left pending by the previous BRS government, are now being cleared by the Congress government. According to him, this exposed the financial mismanagement and corruption of the BRS regime.

Bandi Sudhakar Goud said the Telangana movement was based on the promises of funds, water and jobs, all of which were betrayed under BRS rule. In contrast, he said the Congress government is now implementing these promises along with the six guarantees announced to the public.

Responding to criticism over Krishna river water issues, he said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy only stated facts regarding the BRS government’s failure to exert pressure on the Centre or effectively utilise water resources. He mocked BRS leaders for avoiding debate in the Assembly and claimed KCR attended only for attendance, not for Telangana’s interests.

Taking a dig at internal BRS issues, Bandi Sudhakar Goud questioned why the party leadership remained silent when Kavitha was making allegations against her own family. He warned that Congress would expose BRS leaders and recover every rupee allegedly looted.

Concluding his remarks, he issued a stern warning that KTR must immediately tender an unconditional apology to Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Failing this, he said Congress workers would block KTR wherever he goes.
