Nandyal tragedy: father poisons three children, dies by suicide

Hyderabad: A tragic incident was reported from Nandyal district, where a construction worker allegedly poisoned his three minor children and later died by suicide, citing his inability to support them.

The incident occurred in Thudumuladinne village of Uyyalawada mandal. Police said the man gave milk mixed with poison to his children—Kavyashree (7), Dhyaneshwari (4), and Surya Gagan (2)—before consuming the poison himself. All four died, according to preliminary findings. The Nandyal tragedy suicide has shocked residents of the area.

Police identified the man as Surendra, aged 35. Officials said he had been struggling to care for the children since the death of his wife Maheshwari, aged 32, who died due to illness on August 16 last year. After her death, Surendra had been raising the three children alone.
