Hyderabad: BRS leader Abdullah Sohail called on voters in Jubilee Hills to prioritise dignity and justice over short-term gains. Speaking on Sunday, he said the November 11 bypoll was a chance for citizens to reaffirm moral values in politics.
Sohail emphasises dignity, accountability, and civic duty
Abdullah Sohail cautioned voters not to be influenced by cash inducements of Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000, describing such offers as “temporary distractions.” He argued that no amount could compensate for alleged injustices such as mob violence, demolitions, and religious restrictions.
He warned that accepting cash weakened collective integrity and encouraged governance without accountability. “Is our honour worth only Rs 2,500?” he asked, calling the bypoll a moral test for the community.
Referring to the leadership of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Sohail said Telangana had seen governance that respected its culture and rights. He cautioned that a shift in power could lead to centralised and autocratic rule.
Sohail concluded by urging voters to make their decision on November 11 with clarity and conscience, saying the state’s democratic spirit depended on their choices.
