Hyderabad: SHE Teams action harassment resulted in the apprehension of 181 offenders in Malkajgiri Commissionerate, with police warning strict action against those targeting women.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women Safety, T. Usha Rani, said police would not spare anyone involved in harassment. She urged women to come forward and file complaints without fear. She added that decoy operations are being conducted in public places, including bus stands, metro stations, schools, and markets.
Between 16.02.2026 and 15.03.2026, SHE Teams received 223 complaints. These included 57 cases of phone harassment, 53 linked to social media, and 113 involving direct physical harassment. Police registered 8 criminal cases and booked 57 petty cases, while 122 persons underwent counselling with their families present.

Police highlighted several key cases during the period. In one instance, a man allegedly deceived a woman colleague, forced abortions, and later abandoned her after taking money and gold. A case was registered following SHE Team intervention.
In another case, a man allegedly harassed a woman student and threatened to circulate her photos online. Police registered a case after he continued stalking her even after vacating her house.
A separate complaint involved a company head accused of harassing women employees and making inappropriate demands. Police booked a case based on the victim’s complaint.
In another incident, a married woman reported threats from a man who claimed to possess her private photos. Police registered a case and initiated legal action.
Additionally, SHE Teams arrested a man for obscene behaviour near a women’s college after he was caught exposing himself in public. He was remanded to judicial custody.
Police also conducted 97 awareness programmes, reaching 14,715 people on women’s safety and legal rights. During metro decoy operations, six men were fined for entering women-only compartments.
Officials said the initiative continues to focus on prevention, enforcement, and awareness to ensure women’s safety across the commissionerate.
