Governments will fall if journalists are ignored, warns TWJF leader

Hyderabad: Governments that ignore journalists or fail to address their issues will face inevitable downfall, warned Telangana Working Journalists Federation founder president and state convener Mamidi Somaiah.

Speaking at the federation’s fourth district conference in Suryapet on January 23, Somaiah said journalists today face uncertain conditions. He noted that many struggle with professional pressure and personal challenges. Therefore, he stressed that journalists serve as a vital bridge between people and the government. He added that governments must support and protect them.

Later, while addressing the gathering at Bhaskar Inn Palace, Somaiah said the federation would continue its fight for journalists’ welfare and safety. He also announced a concrete action plan. The federation will roll it out after completing district- and state-level conferences.

Meanwhile, Palvai Jannaiah chaired the conference. Senior leaders and members from across the state attended the event.
