Hyderabad: Former MLC Shravan Kumar Dasoju has appealed to the Governor seeking immediate cancellation of the Osmania University professor suspension, terming the action arbitrary and unconstitutional. The appeal follows the suspension of Professor B. Manohar without any preliminary inquiry.
Dr Dasoju stated that undemocratic governance is prevailing at Osmania University, where dissenting voices are allegedly being silenced. He stressed that universities must function as spaces for free thought and expression.

Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, Dr Dasoju alleged that university officials are instilling fear among faculty members. He accused the administration of trampling upon the historic legacy of the institution by curbing academic freedom.
In his representation to Raj Bhavan, Dr Dasoju demanded that the suspension be revoked immediately. He warned that suppressing questions within universities ultimately weakens democratic values.
