MANUU students warn against land grab, threaten nationwide stir

Hyderabad: Students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University warned that they would not remain silent if university lands were taken over, accusing the Revanth Reddy government of conspiring to grab MANUU land under the guise of development.

The students alleged that they were being harassed for opposing attempts to sell university land without improving basic infrastructure. They said the government was trying to push real estate deals within university campuses, which they would not tolerate. Questioning the government’s intent, the students asked whether those who publicly uphold the Constitution would respond to what they called injustice towards students.

The students made the remarks after meeting K T Rama Rao at his residence in Nandinagar. Speaking to the media, they said the MANUU land issue would not be allowed to fade and warned of intensified agitations if clear answers were not provided.

They demanded that Members of Parliament respond immediately and that authorities issue a written clarification on the status of MANUU land. Failing this, they said protests would be expanded across the country in coordination with students from other universities.

MANUU land issue raises concerns over education access

Highlighting the MANUU land issue, students alleged that conspiracies by the Revanth government were keeping students away from education. They questioned how land could be sold when the university lacked minimum facilities and accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of functioning like a real estate broker.

The students claimed that the government was attempting to deprive future generations of education and accused it of cheating students with malicious intent. They demanded that instead of selling land, the government focus on strengthening infrastructure at MANUU.

They also urged the Centre to intervene and respond to what they described as conspiracies targeting the university, stating that their struggle would continue until assurances were given.
