Hyderabad: Vasavi Clubs International donated ₹25 lakh to the Telangana Sainik Welfare Fund on Tuesday to support ex-servicemen and their families, the organisation said.
Vasavi Clubs International President Erukulla Rama Krishna presented the cheque to Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma at Lok Bhavan.
The Governor appreciated the gesture and handed over the cheque to R. Srinivasulu, Director of Sainik Welfare. Officials said the department will use the funds for welfare measures for retired defence personnel and their dependents.
Vasavi Clubs International said the donation reflects its continued commitment to social responsibility and community service.
Support for Telangana Sainik Welfare
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said such collective efforts honour the service of ex-servicemen and strengthen welfare systems. He added that public participation plays a key role in supporting veterans and their families.
Officials of the Department said contributions from voluntary organisations help expand assistance programmes for ex-servicemen across Telangana.
