Hyderabad: Uma rani formally assumed charge as Nizamabad Mayor on Friday, marking a significant transition in the city’s civic leadership. Senior Congress leaders, including Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Ponnam Prabhakar Goud, attended the swearing-in ceremony and extended their support.
Mohammed Ali Shabbir affirmed that the Congress government is committed to transparent and corruption-free governance. He stated that the administration aims to develop Nizamabad into a model city within the State. Additionally, he expressed confidence that the party would uphold public trust, citing recognition of Congress’ earlier development initiatives.
Nizamabad Mayor Promises Model City Development
Mahesh Kumar Goud credited the Mayor’s election to the dedication of party workers and public support. Since he considers Nizamabad his home ground, he said he understands the city’s issues closely. Consequently, he assured that sufficient funds and government backing would help position the city as a leader in infrastructure growth.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Goud highlighted the importance of strengthening local bodies. He advised the Nizamabad Mayor to remain accessible and responsive to public concerns. He further stated that roads, drainage, and drinking water facilities would receive priority attention. According to him, coordinated governance would drive structured development.
Mayor Uma rani thanked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and senior leaders for their confidence. She pledged inclusive governance and committed to transforming the city into a clean and beautiful urban centre. The event drew Congress leaders, corporators, and supporters in large numbers.
