Vikarabad woman constable suicide triggers probe

Hyderabad: Police launched an investigation into the Vikarabad woman constable suicide after a woman constable was found dead at her residence in Vikarabad town on Saturday.

The deceased, identified as Divya, lived at Gangaram Saibaba Colony. According to police, she hanged herself inside her house. After receiving information, Vikarabad town police rushed to the spot and began preliminary inquiries.

Officers shifted the body to the Vikarabad Government Hospital for postmortem examination. Consequently, the Vikarabad woman constable suicide caused shock among residents of the colony and within the police department.

Suicide note found in Vikarabad woman constable suicide case

Speaking to the media, Vikarabad Circle Inspector Raghu Kumar said Divya was working as a writer at Dharur Police Station. He confirmed that she left behind a suicide note.

In the note, she reportedly stated that no one was responsible for her death. She also mentioned that the family had been facing hardships after her father’s death.

Police registered a case and initiated a detailed probe into the suicide. Meanwhile, questions surfaced over whether she had faced any pressure from senior officials.

Investigators said they were examining all possible angles. Family members, colleagues and local residents mourned her death as the inquiry continued.
