Hyderabad: A disturbing murder over Rs 10 has left residents of Vijayawada shaken after an elderly man was killed in the Chitti Nagar area.
Police said the accused demanded Rs 10 from Tataji for alcohol. When the elderly man refused, the intoxicated youth attacked him with a knife in a fit of anger.
Accused Arrested in Murder Over Rs 10
The victim suffered severe bleeding and collapsed immediately. Police reached the scene promptly but found that Tataji had already died.
Investigations revealed that Tataji was a bricklayer from Mangalagiri Nukalpet who had migrated to Vijayawada for work. After the incident, the accused voluntarily surrendered at the police station.
A complaint was registered, and police arrested the accused. Locals expressed panic and concern, noting that the murder over Rs 10 highlighted growing violence over trivial disputes.
