Hyderabad: State Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has said that the Exhibition Society has been playing a crucial role in nation-building by delivering quality education through 20 educational institutions for more than six decades. He made these remarks while addressing the Silver Jubilee Graduation Day programme at Sarojini Naidu Vanitha Pharmacy College, Tarnaka, on Friday.
The minister noted that the institution has achieved UGC autonomous status along with NBA accreditation and NAAC A+ grade. He said these academic recognitions have helped the Exhibition Society emerge as a focal point for the pharmaceutical sector in Telangana.
Uttam Kumar Reddy highlights education and pharma growth
Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that Hyderabad has today emerged as one of the world’s major centres for bulk drug production. As a result, he said, pharmacy students now have access to wide employment opportunities across the sector. He added that the government is working with the vision of “Telangana Rising 2047” to transform Hyderabad into the global capital of life sciences.
He informed that industrial development is being expanded throughout the state through the Green Pharma City initiative and the establishment of special pharma villages in Vikarabad, Medak, and Nalgonda districts. The minister said the Life Sciences Roadmap 2030 aims to attract investments worth ₹1 lakh crore and generate five lakh jobs.
Highlighting future priorities, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the government is focusing on advanced fields such as cell and gene therapy, mRNA vaccines, biologics, and AI-based drug discovery. He also said the establishment of a dedicated Life Sciences University is under consideration.
Expressing confidence in the 2025 graduating students, the minister said they would guide the future of Telangana’s pharmaceutical sector and assured them of full support from the state government.
