Hyderabad: The Telangana Department of Civil Supplies credited ₹500 crore directly into farmers’ bank accounts on Monday under the paddy bonus scheme. The move provided fresh financial support during the ongoing Kharif season.
The department released the funds as promised by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, officials said. With this tranche, the scheme’s total disbursement has reached ₹1,425.91 crore.
Officials explained that the state introduced the paddy bonus in addition to the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The scheme aims to improve returns for cultivators. Farmers now receive ₹2,889 per quintal, which includes both the MSP and the state bonus.
The Civil Supplies Department credited the money directly to beneficiaries’ accounts. This method ensures transparency and delivers timely support to farmers across Telangana.

Officials described the scheme as a major step to strengthen farm incomes during the Kharif procurement period. They said timely payments help farmers manage input costs and continue agricultural operations smoothly.
The department reiterated that the state government remains committed to protecting farmers’ interests. It added that authorities will continue releasing funds as procurement progresses.
