Hyderabad: The Telangana police sports meet continued with high energy on the second day at the Cyberabad Parade Grounds, drawing participation from hundreds of personnel across the state.
The 4th State Police Sports & Games Meet–2026 featured teams from all districts, zones, commissionerates and special units. Police athletes competed in multiple disciplines and displayed strong sporting spirit throughout the day.
Events included athletics, volleyball, kabaddi and several team competitions. Officers and staff took part actively in the contests. Notably, women personnel participated in significant numbers, adding momentum to the meet.
Officials said such events help improve physical fitness, mental strength and team coordination among personnel. They added that sports play a vital role in maintaining discipline and operational readiness within the force.
Wide participation marks Telangana police sports meet
A healthy competitive atmosphere prevailed among different units during the meet. The parade grounds witnessed enthusiastic support as participants represented their respective formations.
Senior officers stated that the department is conducting the sports meet to strengthen sporting culture within the state police. They emphasised that regular sporting events encourage unity and morale among personnel.
The competitions will continue until Saturday, officials confirmed.
