Telangana IPS officer transfers mark sweeping reshuffle in key posts

Hyderabad: The state government announced Telangana IPS officer transfers on Saturday, reshuffling 23 senior officers across city and district posts. The order brought sweeping changes to Hyderabad’s police structure and critical state departments.

Sajjanar was appointed commissioner of Hyderabad police, while CV Anand was shifted to the home department as special chief secretary. Shikha Goel became DG of Vigilance and Enforcement, and Charu Sinha, currently additional DGP CID, was given additional charge as ACB DG.

Swati Lakra received additional charge as DG of Special Protection Force. Nagireddy was named RTC managing director. Vijay Kumar was appointed Intelligence DG, and Stephen Ravindra was transferred as principal secretary, civil supplies. Other postings included Anil Kumar as additional DGP, Greyhounds and Octopus; DS Chauhan as IG, Multi-Zone 2; and Vikram Singh Mann as DG, disaster management and fire services.

Hyderabad city police leadership saw multiple changes. Srinivasulu was posted as additional CP, crime, and Tafseer Iqbal as joint commissioner, law and order. SM Vijay Kumar was appointed commissioner of Siddipet, while Vineet became SP of Narayanpet. Several new joint directors were also named in the ACB.

Analysts say the reshuffle seeks to balance experience across city, intelligence, and enforcement agencies, particularly as the state prepares for civic elections.
