Telangana Governor attends formation day celebrations of Uttar Pradesh and UTs

Hyderabad: Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana, attended the formation day celebrations of Uttar Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu as chief guest. The event took place at Lok Bhavan on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor extended warm greetings to the people of the three regions. He highlighted their rich history and cultural heritage. He also praised their contribution to India’s unity and democratic values.

Meanwhile, he described Uttar Pradesh as the country’s cultural and spiritual heartland. He also pointed to its ongoing developmental progress.

The Governor explained the idea of Bharatiyata. He said it reflected unity in diversity and shared responsibility. Therefore, he noted, such celebrations strengthen emotional integration among states and Union Territories.

Formation day celebrations highlight unity and diversity

Jishnu Dev Varma appreciated the integration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu into the Indian Union. He praised their maritime legacy and tribal traditions. At the same time, he stressed the importance of cooperative federalism and the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.

The programme also featured cultural performances. These included Ganga Avartan Kathak, Khajuri Bhajans from Uttar Pradesh, and a Jhansi Ki Rani fusion dance. Together, they showcased the regions’ artistic diversity.

Several dignitaries attended the event. They included Jhansi MP Anurag Sharma, Special Chief Secretary M. Dana Kishore, Yash Bharati awardee Oma Upadhyay, and members of the three regional communities living in Hyderabad.

“These celebrations reaffirm our shared commitment to cultural preservation and national unity,” the Governor said.
