Hyderabad: Cyberabad AHTU conducted 137 decoy operations at public places as part of a coordinated enforcement drive. The teams caught 66 people red-handed while engaging in indecent acts.
Cyberabad AHTU special drive strengthens preventive policing
Police booked petty cases in 59 instances. They counselled the remaining individuals on the spot. During the same period, the SHE Teams received 23 complaints from women through various channels and acted on them as per protocol.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad AHTU carried out night raids under the special drive. The teams rescued six victims and arrested two accused in two PITA cases. They also apprehended six sex workers and eleven transgender persons during the operations.
Family Counselling Centres and CDEW Centres resolved domestic disputes during the drive. Through these efforts, officials reunited 22 families. In addition, AHTU and SHE Teams jointly held awareness programmes. More than 7,000 people attended the sessions, which focused on safety, legal rights, and helpline services.
