Hyderabad: P Sudarshan Reddy has been serving as the Indian National Congress (INC) MLA from Bodhan since December 2023. He won the seat with 66,963 votes, defeating Mohammed Shakil Aamir (BRS), who secured 63,901; the margin was 3,062. A veteran from Siranpally, Navipet mandal, he earlier represented Bodhan in the undivided Andhra Pradesh Assembly across three terms and served as Irrigation Minister.
Career and cabinet roles
P Sudarshan Reddy first entered the Assembly in 1999, retained the seat in 2004 and 2009, and held the irrigation portfolio in the state cabinet. After losses in 2014 and 2018, he returned in 2023. His legislative focus has included water resources management, rural connectivity and constituency-level oversight of sanctioned works.
Constituency focus since 2023
Since his latest election, he has held mandal- and ward-level reviews on road resurfacing, drainage, and drinking-water reliability in Bodhan town and surrounding mandals. He has emphasised time-bound execution of approved works, transparent fund utilisation and regular public updates, along with upkeep of PHCs and government schools.
