Hyderabad: A case of Nizamabad medical negligence came to light after a young man died during an ear surgery at a private hospital in the district, triggering protests by his family members.
The deceased was identified as Gangam Ajay from Pallikonda village in Bheemgal mandal of Nizamabad district. Ajay had been admitted to a private hospital on Tuesday (February 24) with severe ear pain. After examining him, doctors advised immediate surgery.
However, Ajay died soon after doctors administered anaesthesia for the procedure. His family alleged that Nizamabad medical negligence by the operating doctors and the anaesthetist led to his sudden death. They claimed the hospital lacked proper emergency facilities and a ventilator.
Family members said Ajay was stable when he was admitted. They alleged that the hospital failed to handle complications after giving anaesthesia. As a result, they held the medical staff responsible for the tragedy.
Family alleges Nizamabad medical negligence over lack of facilities
Tension escalated outside the hospital as relatives staged a protest, demanding justice. They accused the management of operating without adequate life-saving equipment. According to the family, the absence of a ventilator worsened the situation when Ajay’s condition deteriorated.
In a dramatic turn, family members brought a diesel can and threatened to cremate Ajay’s body in front of the hospital. Consequently, the situation turned tense, and a large crowd gathered at the spot.
The incident created panic in the area, while locals supported the grieving family. Authorities were expected to step in to bring the situation under control and address the allegations raised in the Nizamabad medical negligence case.
