MCEME best training establishment named by Indian Army

Hyderabad: The Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) earned the title of Best Training Establishment of the Indian Army, receiving the Chief of Army Staff’s Unit Appreciation on the eve of Army Day 2026.

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi presented the award during an investiture ceremony at the Sapt Shakti Auditorium in Jaipur. Senior officers and veterans attended the event.

Notably, this is the first time in its eight-decade history that MCEME has secured the Army’s top institutional honour. The achievement highlights a sustained phase of reforms in training delivery and academic performance. Moreover, officials said the recognition reflects clear improvements in instructional quality and operational relevance across courses.

Reforms behind MCEME’s recognition

Over the past few years, MCEME revamped its curriculum and assessment systems. At the same time, it integrated emerging technologies such as drones, robotics, and additive manufacturing into regular training. As a result, the institution aligned technical education more closely with the Army’s evolving battlefield and maintenance needs.

Additionally, MCEME expanded collaboration with industry and academic partners to strengthen indigenous technology development. These initiatives support Atma Nirbhar Bharat and the Army’s Decade of Transformation vision. Senior officers added that MCEME’s reform model will guide similar upgrades at other Army training establishments.
