Hyderabad: Telangana Gurukul Educational Institutions Society Secretary Ramanakumar announced that the state will conduct a KGBV entrance exam for Intermediate first-year admissions for the first time.
He said authorities will fill admissions to MPC, BiPC, CEC and MEC courses in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas through this entrance test. However, the exam will cover only 93 KGBVs.
Officials have released the admission notification through the TGRJC CET. The process will include Telangana Gurukul institutions and selected KGBVs offering Intermediate courses.
Authorities will conduct the KGBV entrance exam on May 3. They aim to streamline admissions and ensure merit-based selection.
KGBV entrance exam to cover 93 schools only
Officials clarified that the entrance process will fill seats in only 93 KGBVs. The remaining institutions will continue with the existing admission system.
The new entrance exam marks a shift in the admission process. It aligns KGBVs with other residential educational institutions in the state.
Separately, the Intermediate Board increased remuneration for answer sheet evaluation by 25%. Evaluators will now receive Rs 29.57 per paper. Camp officers and other staff will get Rs 1,000 per day.
