Hyderabad: Massive traffic jam hit the Hyderabad Vijayawada highway on Saturday as thousands of commuters left the city for Dasara. The highway witnessed long stretches of stranded vehicles, with heavy congestion at Hayathnagar.
RTC buses, private cars, and two-wheelers crawled forward as the highway turned gridlocked. The traffic chaos intensified with heavy rainfall across Ranga Reddy district. At Gourelli in Abdullapurmet mandal, floodwaters rushed over a bridge, forcing officials to stop vehicle movement and place barricades.

Further inside the city, congestion at Uppal crossroads slowed traffic to a crawl. Meanwhile, buses bound for districts were diverted at Dilsukhnagar, creating bottlenecks.
