Hyderabad: Nalgonda Police announced major traffic diversions on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway as Sankranti celebrations ended. Thousands of travellers are returning from their hometowns in Andhra Pradesh.
Police expect heavy vehicle movement on the highway. Officials introduced the diversions to prevent traffic congestion. Ongoing flyover construction at Chityala and Peddakaparthi prompted the decision. Police advised commuters to follow diversion routes and cooperate with traffic personnel.
Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar said police imposed the diversions to avoid traffic jams near construction zones. He urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance and avoid delays.

For traffic moving from Nalgonda to Hyderabad, police advised motorists to use the Marriguda bypass, Munugodu, and Narayanpur. Vehicles can rejoin the highway at Choutuppal. Police diverted heavy vehicles from Vijayawada via Kodad, Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda, and Haliya.
