Girl student dies under suspicious circumstances at Gurukul school

Hyderabad: A Gurukul school death triggered concern on Saturday after a Class 7 girl student was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Gurukul School in Siddipet mandal.

The deceased student, identified as Harshita, reportedly died around 3 am inside the school premises. Her parents and family members expressed shock and grief after being informed of the incident. Officials said the circumstances surrounding her death were unclear and required investigation.

Sources said the school management, including the principal and teachers, did not immediately disclose the incident. The girl’s body was later shifted to the mortuary at Siddipet Government Hospital for postmortem examination.

Gurukul school death prompts probe into school functioning

Officials said Harshita hailed from Kallepalli village in Bejjanki mandal. Police registered a case and initiated an inquiry to determine the cause of death and assess whether there was any lapse in supervision or response by the school authorities.

The Gurukul school death has once again raised questions over safety and monitoring mechanisms in residential educational institutions. Authorities said further action would be taken based on the postmortem report and findings of the investigation.
