GHMC Commissioner inspects EVM godown at Chudi Bazar

Hyderabad: The GHMC Commissioner inspected the EVM godown at Chudi Bazar on Thursday, reviewing security arrangements and infrastructure facilities put in place for the safe storage of Electronic Voting Machines.

Officials said the EVM godown inspection focused on the implementation of prescribed security protocols, including round-the-clock surveillance and access control. The Commissioner also reviewed arrangements for adequate ventilation and uninterrupted power supply, along with backup systems, to ensure the integrity of the stored machines.

During the visit, emphasis was laid on strict adherence to guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. Fire safety measures at the facility were also examined as part of the inspection.

Security arrangements reviewed during EVM godown inspection

Officials said the inspection aimed to ensure that all safety and monitoring mechanisms at the Chudi Bazar godown remained fully functional. The Commissioner directed staff to maintain continuous vigilance and comply with all stipulated norms to safeguard the EVMs.

Authorities said periodic inspections would continue to ensure that storage facilities meet the required standards at all times.
