Hyderabad: Five youths went missing in the Godavari River at Bhadrachalam on Friday after they entered the water for a bath near the Kollugudem sand ramp, according to preliminary reports.
The incident took place around 12 noon. A group of seven young men reached the riverbank and entered the water. Soon after, five of them failed to return, triggering panic among those present.
Initial reports suggest that strong currents may have pulled them away. However, officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause.
The two youths who remained safe alerted others when their friends did not resurface. Locals quickly gathered at the spot, and authorities rushed to the scene.
