Hyderabad: The Telangana Drugs Control Administration busted an unlicensed medical devices manufacturing unit in Sultanpur of Sangareddy district and seized a large illegal stock.
Director General Shahnawaz Qasim said the unit operated from the Medical Devices Park at Sultanpur under the name Medi Blue Healthcare Private Limited. Acting on specific information, Drugs Control Administration teams conducted a targeted inspection at the premises.
During the raid, officials found that the company manufactured several medical devices without mandatory licences. The unit also produced dialysis kits without legal approval. Officials confirmed that the company ran operations in violation of regulatory norms.
Unlicensed medical devices seized under Drugs and Cosmetics Act
Shahnawaz Qasim said officials seized a large stock of medical devices kept ready for sale. He said the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and Medical Devices Rules, 2017, require valid licences for manufacturing such products. However, the company failed to meet these statutory conditions.
