Hyderabad Police Make Major Drug Peddlers Arrest Near IMAX

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone Team, along with Saifabad Police, carried out a major drug-peddling raid that led to the arrest of three suppliers and the seizure of narcotic substances. Acting on credible information, the team moved to the IMAX open ground under Saifabad PS limits late at night and launched the operation.

Police identified the accused as Mohd. Gulam Jilani, Suleman Khan and Feroz Bin Ali @ Sahil. Officers recovered 100 grams of brown sugar, 1,350 grams of dry ganja, seven mobile phones and a Honda motorcycle (TS15 EH 4694). The seized material is worth about Rs 23,50,000.

During questioning, Feroz and Suleman said they bought brown sugar from Jilani for Rs 5,000 per gram and sold it to consumers for Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per gram. They also admitted that on 04-11-2025 they sold three grams of brown sugar to Mohd. Ahmed of Jahanuma for Rs 24,000. Ahmed later died of overdose in a flat at Shivrampally, after which Rajendranagar Police registered Cr. No. 1205/2025 under Section 194 of the BNSS.

Jilani told police that he migrated from Jharkhand and entered the narcotics trade due to financial difficulties. He met a person named Afsar from Odisha, who guided him in procuring drugs. Following Afsar’s instructions, he travelled through Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur before reaching Jaleshwar and Balasore. There, they procured 115 grams of brown sugar and 1,350 grams of dry ganja for Rs 3.5 lakh. Jilani returned to Hyderabad on 01-11-2025 and supplied 15 grams to Suleman and Feroz along with pricing and commission details.

Police later took custody of the arrested men and the seized narcotics for further action. Officers from the Central Zone Task Force and Saifabad Police led the operation.
