Divyang persons must be encouraged in all fields, says GHMC deputy mayor

Hyderabad: GHMC Deputy Mayor Motey Srilatha Shobhan Reddy on Wednesday said society must actively encourage divyang persons in all fields. According to her, authorities should identify their hidden talent and provide equal opportunities.

Sankalpa Mela Inaugurated at Lalapet

She made these remarks after inaugurating the ‘Sankalpa Mela’ at the Jayashankar Sports Ground in Lalapet. The event was jointly organised by Blue Foundation, Enable India, and CADER.
During the event, she appreciated the organisers for bringing multiple voluntary organisations onto a single platform.

Empowerment Key to Social Development

The Deputy Mayor said divyang persons possess immense potential. Therefore, empowering them remains essential for overall social development. She further urged institutions and employers to create inclusive spaces. In addition, she called for meaningful participation of divyang persons in education, employment, and social life.

Interaction with Organisations and Visitors

Later, she interacted with representatives of voluntary organisations and visitors. During these interactions, she enquired about ongoing services for divyang persons. At the same time, she sought details about the challenges they face.

At a meeting held as part of the mela, several dignitaries addressed the gathering. These included Moses Chowdhary, Krishnamurthy, K. Saidulu, K. Srinivasa Rao, Haribabu, Mallikarjun, V. Kranti Kishore, and Umar Khan.
