Chandrayangutta Police trace and recover 24 missing mobile phones

Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta Police Crime Team successfully traced and recovered 24 missing mobile phones following a special operation that combined technical investigation and field-level verification, officials announced on Tuesday.

The drive began after the station received multiple complaints of stolen and lost phones in recent weeks. Moreover, under the direction of Assistant Commissioner of Police A. Sudhakar and Inspector R. Gopi, the team used IMEI-based CEIR tracking and coordinated field checks to identify the devices’ locations.

Detective Inspector B. Rama Swamy and Sub-Inspector K. Aravind led the effort, while Head Constable Khaja Kareemuddin, Crime Writer V. Purushotham, and Police Constables B. Praveen and B. Nishanth supported the team. They verified the trail of each phone and visited several locations across Hyderabad and nearby areas to recover the devices.

Chandrayangutta Police missing phones operation targeted illegal resale

Many of the recovered phones were with unsuspecting buyers and shops who had purchased the devices without verifying documentation. Consequently, police seized all devices as per legal procedures and confirmed they will return the phones to rightful owners after completing formalities.

Officials also reminded the public to exercise caution when buying second-hand phones. In addition, they said verifying IMEI numbers and ownership history can help avoid legal trouble and prevent the circulation of stolen goods.

Overall, the successful recovery reinforces the Chandrayangutta Police’s commitment to curbing property-related crimes and strengthening public trust in law enforcement.
