Hyderabad: A delegation from Bordeaux Metropole, France, visited Hyderabad on Thursday to review the city’s heritage conservation and urban restoration efforts. The visit formed part of the growing collaboration between the two cities.
Anne-Laure Moniot, Head of Architecture and Urban Heritage, led the team. Deputy Consul Pascal Loreau and Hyderabad focal point Hugo Cauvet accompanied her. They met Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi at the GHMC headquarters and discussed Hyderabad’s heritage identity and its prospects for UNESCO World Heritage status.
After meeting the Mayor, the Bordeaux team interacted with GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and Special Officer Anurag Jayanti. Senior officials from QQSUDA and NIUM also joined the interaction. The city officials briefed the delegation on ongoing conservation, restoration and infrastructure upgrades in Hyderabad’s Old City.
